Can’t come to us? Then we’ll bring our adventures in science to you! McWane Science Center’s Outreach specialists offer a variety of exciting, standards-based, hands-on science activities and presentations for school assemblies and classroom programs.

Light Bright!

Light and shadow, heat and chill. Young scientists will investigate the phenomenon of our sun’s effect on the seasons, weather, and life on Earth. Students will also experiment with the effects of illumination on shadows and become artists of light.

Family Science Night
Promote parent participation and stimulate young minds when your school hosts a McWane Science Center Family Science Night. These exciting and educational programs are perfect as a stand-alone event or tied in with a parent PTA or PTO night. Family Science Night includes two hours of hands-on science that’s fun for kids as well as parents and teachers.

PROGRAM OPTIONS:
Science Festival, Crime Scene Investigations, Environmental Explorations, Aquatic Adventures, or Space Exploration

Capacity: 200
Fee: $400
Requirements: 15–20 adult volunteers to help facilitate the activities. A required training for these volunteers will be held 45 minutes prior to the event.
