The Casual Dining Cook & Prep position is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the cafe and related special events by assisting with the preparation, presentation, sales and cleanliness of the department while providing excellent customer service. Food court areas include Pizza Pi, Subway, Red Mango, the Grille and Daily Special.
3-6 months food handling experience — one year experience preferred; possess national or county issued food safety certification; flexible working hours and days throughout the 7-day week (this may include some nights and holidays); knowledgeable in the safety and use of various food service tools and equipment; knowledgeable of food handling procedures, stock rotation, and cleanliness practices associated with a restaurant; and be at least 18 years of age.
Minimum physical job qualifications include the following: ability to stand, walk, climb and be mobile for 8-14 hours per day; ability to access any area of the museum quickly, including stairs; ability to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 pounds; ability to communicate and enunciate clearly on the portable radios; ability to withstand high temperatures for extended periods of time; ability to withstand freezer temperatures for extended periods of time; possess good reflexes and physical dexterity in the hands and wrist; and visual and hearing acuity.
