McWane Science Center's one-stop party planning services will ensure a hassle-free experience as we handle all the details. Your guests will party in style as they step into one of our private Party Rooms. We’ll provide you with a personalized cake, drinks, all paper products and everything right down to the last candle. Invite your family and friends, and we can take care of the rest!

Adventure Parties:

Adventure Party
$200 non-member / $180 member (10% Off)

- Admission to the Adventure Halls after the party for 15 children and 15 adults
- Private party room for 60 minutes
- Free parking for all guests
- Birthday Party Staff Member to host your party
And your choice of:
- A ¼ sheet cake with the McWane Science Center logo, punch, side item, ice cream, and paper products for 15 adults and 15 children.
OR
- A 20 minute hands on program (options below).

Ultimate Adventure Party
$250 non-member / $225 member (10% Off)

- Admission to the Adventure Halls after the party for 15 children and 15 adults
- Private party room for 60 minutes
- Free parking for all guests
- Birthday Party Staff Member to host your party
And BOTH:
- A ¼ sheet cake with the McWane Center logo, punch, side item, ice cream, and paper products for 15 guests
AND
- A 20 minute hands on program (options below).

Adventure parties and Ultimate Adventure Parties Are Offered:
Saturday:  10-11, 12-1, 2-3, 4-5
Sunday: 12-1, 2-3, 4-5
Weekday parties available upon request.

Prices and Payment Policy

Payment Policy: Full payment is required in order to take a reservation. 
Cancellation Fee:  $50 if you cancel your party for any reason.

- Additional party guests -- $6 for children, $3 for adults
- IMAX movie tickets -- $3 per person (plus tax)

CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS FOR YOUR PARTY:

Dino Might!  (Ages 3-5)
Take a hands-on look at fascinating facts about your favorite dinosaurs.  How big were they?  What did they eat?  Where did they live?  Were there dinosaurs in Alabama? 

Ocean Animals (Ages 3-5)
Dive down under and explore sea life up close and personal.  Examine the animals and discover what it’s like to be a creature of the deep.  

Animal Adventures (Ages 3-13)
Get up close and personal with animals from around the world. Investigate the relationships these amazing creatures have with each other and the environment around them.

Kool Kidz! (Ages 6-13)
Take a hands-on look at solids, liquids and gases using really cold liquid nitrogen (-321°F).  Together we’ll explore freezing, physical changes and role of energy in the states of matter. 

A Shocking Experience (Ages 6-13)
Have a hair-raising party experimenting with the basics of electricity. 
Party-goers will get all charged up as they unravel the secrets of electrons, circuits and static electricity.

Oh Gross! (Ages 6-13)
Join us for an investigation of some really slimy stuff.  Discover the presence and importance of polymers in our everyday lives.  Check our ordinary objects that are polymers and even mix up a batch to take home. 

Rocket Science (Ages 6-13)
Rocket making has never been so much fun!  Students will become familiar with the history and parts of a rocket.  This class will absolutely fly by as students construct and test their very own straw rockets. 

Amazing Reactions (Ages 8-13)
Is it a chemical change or a physical change, an acid or a base? Exciting demonstrations and hands-on experiments engage students in exploring some mysteries of chemistry.

Rules & Restrictions
If you wish, you may arrive up to 15 minutes before the party time to decorate the room.  Decorations may include tablecloths, party hats, cups, plates, and centerpieces.  Helium balloons, wall decorations, confetti and glitter are NOT allowed.  Party rooms must be cleaned and vacated within 15 minutes following your party time.

To make your Adventure Party reservation call McWane Science Center’s Birthday Party Department at (205) 714-8414 with the name of the birthday child, requested date and time of party, any additional options, number of participants and type of payment. Credit and debit cards can be taken over the phone. Party scheduling is subject to staffing and space availability. Reservations should be made 3-6 weeks in advance.
