Foundation and Government
Science literacy has become of crucial importance to all people, not just the technical elite. Science is all around us and it’s essential that our children learn to solve problems, collect and analyze information, present results and develop optimism for the future.
McWane Science Center offers age-specific, grade appropriate educational programs for children in the K-12th grades. Every educational program meets Alabama Course of Study Standards to compliment what is being taught in the classroom.
Since McWane Science Center opened in 1998, 450,000 students have experienced field trips to McWane Science Center. An additional 70,000 students participated in outreach programs.
This is possible due to the generous support of philanthropic organizations and municipalities which provide funding for McWane Science Center’s educational mission.
McWane Science Center gratefully acknowledges the following organizations and governments for their support.
