Plunge below the surface to discover freshwater, coastal and offshore habitats including over 50 species of aquatic life, and interact with our exhibits to learn the story of water on our planet.
In Deep Discovery you might come face to face with a green moray eel, a giant pacific octopus or a southern stingray.
At the Ocean’s Edge you can build a shoreline to learn about beach erosion, examine sand samples form around the world and catch a world record fish. During and Ocean’s Edge Encounter you can see and touch sea urchins, horseshoe crabs and more.
In River Journey you can experience some of Alabama’s amazing fresh water resources. Get a fish eye view of the Cahaba River and its’ rich diversity and see “the one that got away” in our Alabama Lakes tank.
Check out hands-on activities in the WET Lab that may include everything from the anatomy of sea life to the weird things that sharks sometimes eat.
