In accordance with U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, face coverings are now optional for fully vaccinated (two weeks following last vaccination) individuals inside McWane Science Center. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated should continue to use face coverings over their noses and mouths while inside our museum. This includes our young visitors ages 3-11 who are unable to be vaccinated at this time. Masks are not recommended for individuals 2 and younger. Masks will be optional for fully vaccinated (two weeks after final vaccination) staff. All staff who are not fully vaccinated must continue to wear masks according to CDC guidelines.
We are following social distancing guidelines throughout the facility. Visitor groups must maintain a 6-foot distance from other groups.
Sanitizing High-Touch Areas
McWane Science Center has developed and will continue to implement enhanced cleaning protocols throughout the property.
Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the facility and visitors are encouraged to use them. Our restrooms are cleaned and restocked with soap, and hand sanitizer several times daily.
We have limited the number of visitors allowed on premises to half during this period of enhanced safety protocols.
IMAX® Dome Theater
The IMAX Dome Theater will also maintain a restricted occupancy. The current occupancy rate for IMAX is 50% of standard capacity. Guests are asked to leave at least two seats between themselves and the next group.
McWane employees circulate throughout the premises to ensure social distancing measures and other safety protocols are followed. If you have any questions or concerns about safety or other matters, any McWane employee is happy to help.
