The award, presented by the Alabama Tourism Department, recognizes McWane’s excellence in providing visitors with an immersive and entertaining learning experience that attracts visitors from near and far. In presenting the award in Montgomery, Alabama Tourism Department Director Lee Sentell said, “McWane brings science alive for youngsters in ways that are not only educational, but absolutely magical. The place appears to be different every time a youngster visits. It is one resource in Alabama that has no equal.”
“It speaks to our team’s resilience, commitment and innovation in carrying out our mission in spite of the challenges, and our dedication to serving our community no matter the circumstances
In addition to providing museum visitors with interactive exhibits that spark wonder and curiosity about the world through hands-on-science, McWane Science Center also serves as a research hub.
